A Snowy Winter Night at Snoqualmie Pass
In the winter of 2021, circled around the dinner table at a home in Snoqualmie Pass, Washington sat six outdoor enthusiasts with a heart for sharing the love of Christ through the first text of creation and scripture. On the table was a filing box including one large red binder.
The red binder held the history of a 30+year old nonprofit built on a promise in the passage John 8:32, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”
Started in 1989, Alaythia Fellowship, now known as Wilderness Formation, sought to present the truth of Jesus Christ to whoever the Lord would send their way through avenues of minsitry including a study center, hospitality, literature and writing, speaking and pastoral counseling.
The desire was to be a place where people could come for a free interchange and dialogue of ideas as well as sharing the truth of freedom, meaning and liberty in Jesus Christ as the truth which sets people free!
As co-founders Richard and Donna Donna Dahlstrom responded to a call to leave their mountain home and the location of their study/retreat center in the North Cascades and serve the local church in Seattle, Washington, Alaythia Fellowship closed its proverbial doors in 2004. The organization rested until the start of 2021 when a young man from Texas moved to the Pacific Northwest with a desire to see the dreams of Alaythia Fellowship moving among people again.
